HousePals was founded with a simple belief: that safe, stable housing should not be out of reach for the people who build and sustain our region. It is this conviction that continues to guide every decision we make and every step we take in pursuit of our mission.

Building With Purpose.

As we reflect on the past year, we do so with deep gratitude—for the partners who believed in this work from the very beginning, for the County of San Diego for its collaboration, and for the individuals who continue to support our mission in quiet but meaningful ways.

Over the last fiscal year, HousePals worked closely with the County of San Diego to acquire seven properties totaling approximately 188 acres. While these acquisitions are only the beginning of a much longer journey, they represent a meaningful step toward expanding affordable housing opportunities and laying the foundation for lasting impact for the people we serve.

There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead, but for the first time, we can point to something tangible: land secured with purpose and a vision beginning to take shape. That progress gives us hope, strengthens our resolve, and reminds us that meaningful change is built one step at a time.

A Mission in Motion

As we look ahead, our focus remains unchanged: continuing the work of expanding access to affordable housing through consistent, long-term effort.

In the months to come, we will be updating our website to better reflect the work already underway and the plans taking shape behind the scenes. We look forward to sharing more about our projects, our partnerships, and the long-term path we are charting to expand access to affordable housing for the people who need it most.

We are still early in this journey—but we are no longer at the beginning.
